Studio Cameras Donated by Chicago ABC Station

Focus on Tomorrow is proud to announce the acquisition of four major assets that will benefit the fundraising goal for the new TV Production program at Braddock Senior High School.  ABC 7, Chicago’s #1 News Station, has donated four Sony Betacam SX cameras to be used by Braddock Students in the upgraded studio.  This donation reduces Focus on Tomorrow’s budget for this program by $10,500, making these four assets the organization’s largest donation to date.

Sony Betacams are known for their crisp, clear picture, which can be produced in wide 16×9 or standard 4×3.  Although News organizations around the world adopted Betacam as their field camera of choice, the cameras are an ideal substitute for studio cameras, compatible with the old WBHS/BTV tripods.  The donation of four cameras allows for three stationary cameras and one hand-held camera for interviews, shots of audience members and show bumps.

Focus on Tomorrow is extremely grateful to ABC 7 Chicago for their donation and their investment in tomorrow’s journalists.
