Focus on Tomorrow is proud to announce a partnership with After School Matters in Chicago.
ASM provides enrichment programs through a network of public and private partnerships that include Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District, the Chicago Public Library, and community organizations throughout the city. ASM has been recognized nationally for their innovative approach to coordinating city resources and delivering unique and diverse programs. The hands-on, project-based programs expose teens to rewarding careers and help them develop marketable job skills, making ASM an obvious partner for Focus on Tomorrow
This partnership enhances the already two year old after school program offered by Focus on Tomorrow. The new resources offered by ASM help Focus on Tomorrow provide a more well-rounded curriculum, purchase much needed supplies and hire personnel. Additionally, the year round Hi-Frequency program, held on Saturdays is being restructured. Students will now attend TV Production sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and on Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm for a period of 10 weeks. This new schedule ensures that students are meeting the 90 hour session requirements of the ASM curriculum. Finally, each student that participates in the Hi Frequency program will present a finished product in front of an audience at the end of the 10 week session, helping to develop confidence and presentation skills.
It is always our goal to find new ways of improving our programs so that our students can get the most out of their experience and excel in the endeavors. We feel strongly that this partnership with ASM does just that and we are happy to join their network or programs.
