Focus on Tomorrow is comprised of entertainment industry professionals that once participated in their high school’s TV production or cinematography programs. Each Director attributes their success to the foundation their high school programs afforded them. In an effort to pay-it-forward, Focus on Tomorrow is determined to ensure that today’s high school students are provided the same opportunities.


juan-reyesJuan serves as President of the Board for Focus on Tomorrow and is also the founder of the organization. Juan has worked in the television and film industry in the capacity of a freelance Director of Photography/Camera Operator for various networks including NBC, ABC, FOX, Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, E! Network, BET and Style. Additionally, he has worked on large scale television shows like The Bachelor, Celebrity Rehab and Basketball Wives. He is also billed as Co-Producer and Co-Writer, along with Mark Polish (writer/producer/actor of The Astronaut Farmer, Twin Falls Idaho, For Lovers Only) on two independent films currently in pre-production. Juan directed photography on two daytime, Emmy nominated episodes of Split Ends for the Style network.


juan-gonzalezJuan has held different positions during his career in television, including master control operator and Chyron operator. Juan has worked for an array of companies, such as WPLG in Miami, WFTV in Orlando, WAMI in Miami, C-SPAN in Washington DC and the Chyron Corporation, where he currently manages the Latin American market. Juan continues to sharpen his skills by attending trade shows all over the world, most notably the NAB Show in Las Vegas.


will-barrosoWill has pursued various roles in broadcasting, including Stagehand, Camera Operator and Lighting Technician. He has worked for television stations/networks such as WMFE in Orlando, WAMI in Miami Beach and Univision in Doral, Florida. Will has also filled various freelance roles in commercials, concerts and the Orange Bowl. Upon furthering his education, Will moved into the business side of broadcasting as an Accountant for ABC 7 Chicago, where he served for 11 years. He resigned from ABC 7 in June of 2014 to serve as Executive Director of Focus on Tomorrow.


fiterreJorge began his career in entertainment as a DJ and reviewing music for magazines such as Rinse and PlayMusic. While in college, Jorge enrolled in Communication and Media Management classes, which helped spark an interest in the television industry. Since 2004, Jorge has worked at Condista, a company that specializes in providing Spanish language content from Central and South America to US audiences. He is currently the Technical Operations Manager at Condista. Jorge, as an employee of Condista, represents channels such as Cine Latino, Canal 52MX, El Garage TV, SUR, SUR Peru, Mexico TV, TV Venezuela, Telefe Internacional, TeleFormula, and Video Rola.


zackowitzSamantha launched her career in broadcasting with a focused path in producing, writing and editing. She has worked primarily for ABC 7 Chicago, where she produced the show, 190 North. Samantha has also produced various reality show pilots for Richard Dominick Productions and was the lead Producer for Let’s Dish, a cooking show on the Live Well Network. Samantha has been recognized by the Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her contribution to the 2008 Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and 190 North.
